Tol Madan - the picture of volus affability with his polished exo-suit and courtly manners - was at his usual post at the reception desk, greeting guests and politely enquiring what mode of entertainment the establishment might offer them this evening. The cabaret was full of the muted sounds of a good night out: cutlery and clinking glasses, lively conversation, the latest vogue-melody from Thessia courtesy of the DJ, and a sultry asari dancer on stage, holding the attention of the nearby tables. In the adjoining bar the progress of a pildavi college-league game was exciting much comment from spectators, as the reigning local champions from Nos Astra University found themselves facing spirited resistance from their rivals from Belia LaDora - players on both teams no doubt well aware that selectors for the Nos Astra Pulsars would be watching. And omnipresent, the well-dressed escorts sauntered about, on their way to tables where they had been requested, to take a seat (or a lap) and converse, or simply meandering and seeing whose eye they might catch; every now and then they and their customers would finish their meals or drinks, and make their way to the elevators leading to the Dusk Oasis, and more private surroundings to continue the evening.
Daia, leaning on the rail of the social lounge overlooking the restaurant, with a thin porcelain bowl of elcor tea cradled in her hands, smiled contently at one of her favourite sights: all manner of people happy, each to their own tastes.

Calistaris entered the lively establishment with much excitement. Although she had been to a variety of night clubs before, they were mostly small time and one-shot raves, so part of her was a little nervous. She wasn't necessarily certain about the dress code, so to play it safe she wore her old dress blues that she was able to hsng on to. She did, however, have the general idea from all the great stories she's heard of Apricity, and, as such, applied a special face paint for this event where the bright green glowed neon in certain lights. Calistaris also wanted to have just a rememberable time as the stories she heard, this being one of the last nights she may spend on Illium.
Cali politely greeted the volus as she entered the establishment, trying to decide where to begin. The cabaret seemed interesting enough, very lively. The sports bar also seemed to be a place for conversation as well, however she didn't know an awful lot about Pildavi, just the basics, so it may not be for her. She gently scratched her chin and began speaking to herself. "Where to begin..."

Druss Jorkakt - the photocopied several times picture of volus affability with her (relatively) clean suit of heavy armour and interesting idea of manners - would be walking up to the reception desk, if the club's dress code has any issues with wearing body armour then now would be a very good time for Tol to mention this. Calistaris might take note of the two bickering if the looked back to the entrance, but it seems like nothing much, at least at a glance. Closer up to the two however, Druss's problem would only be worsened after she mentions she has a shotgun on her, wanting to bring it in despite the clear weapons ban inside the club. As they continued fighting, Daia would be called down to the reception desk, so much for her relaxation, ah well, that's running a club for you. Tol however might be simply baffled by what Druss would be showing him: Information stating she's a spectre. Of course, it has to be a fake after all, there's no way that could be real . . . right?

Calistaris roughly heard what sounded like the beginning of an argument, turning back to the entrance to feed her curiosity. What she saw though left her with some more questions though. Is that... An armored volus? Was all she could think, trying to get within earshot, now leaning against a wall to watch the show. "This looks like a fun way to start the night." She whispered with the turian equivalent of a smirk.

“I see,” Tol Madan said, sounding somewhat perplexed at the presentation of Druss’s apparent Spectre credentials. “I’m-” *hssk* “-afraid that... ah,” he broke off as a purple-haired human woman approached. “May I present Earth-clan Charisma Laurendon, Apricity’s manager. Miss Laurendon, vol-clan Druss Jorkakt.” Bemused or not, Tol Madan’s genteel manners remained unruffled. “The lady wishes to carry her weapon on her person during her visit this evening-” *hssk* “-under authority as a Council Spectre.”
If the notion of a volus Spectre took Charisma aback, she had the good grace not to show it beyond a momentary widening of her eyes; she gave Druss a delicate bow.
“Bienvenue vol-clan Druss Jorkakt,” she said, managing the unfamiliar arrangement of syllables passably, despite volus names and her French accent clashing somewhat. “Begging your pardon, but I must insist that any weapons remain outside the club; the security measures on our storage lockers will I’m sure prove satisfactory to your needs, should you wish to make use of them. If you’re here on a matter of Council business, we’d be pleased to assist you in any way we may - however our first duty is to the wellbeing of our guests and staff.”

Spotting Charisma looking purposeful on her way toward the entry foyer, Daia finished her tea and meandered down that way herself, hanging back to observe. Disagreements about who was allowed what cropped up now and then at the door, and the staff continued going about their business, content that management would handle it; the other visitors paid the argument little heed either, evidently used to this sort of thing in Nos Astra. Daia spotted Sinda as one of the asari greeting guests while Tol Madan was occupied, and was reassured.
“I haven’t seen a volus that well-armoured since Omega,” she mused, covertly studying Druss - speaking to herself, but she happened to be standing near enough Calistaris to be overheard.

Calistaris turned her head slightly to the voice, then back to the small commotion, kicking her left leg over her right. "I must admit, I've never seen one." She whispered as a reply, only just loud enough for the asari to hear her. "Are they common on Omega? Because I must admit, it is rather comical seeing such a small, stout being in such heavy armor." She continued with a small chuckle. "But to each their own, I suppose." She added, trying to decide whether to leave the scene, seeing as it won't escalate much beyond this, or stay and simply relax with a little bit of playful banter traded between strangers.

Daia started slightly and glanced around at the sound of a voice, then gave Calistaris a wide smile.
“Every now and then,” she replied. “It’s been quite a while since I lived there, but I don’t imagine things can have changed that much.” She glanced back at Druss. “Exo-suits are pretty heavy-duty in any case, out of necessity, but I wouldn’t blame anyone for adding on a bit of extra protection if they’re planning a stroll through the station.”
She gave a wry chuckle, and leant on the wall beside the turian.
“Not such a critical concern here, thankfully.” She giggled suddenly as a thought struck her. “Maybe they’re planning a visit to the dominatrix, and wanted to be on the safe side?”
She glanced again at Cali, and extended a casual hand in greeting.
“Is it your first time here? I'm Daia, welcome to Apricity.”

Calistaris couldn't help but almost start burst out laughing at the thought of a volus seeing a dominatrix, having to cover her mouth with her arm to feign coughing. She took a second to recover, still giggling occasionally. "Spirits, there must be one strong dominatrix here to warrant that kind of protection." She responded, shaking her head with a "smile".
Calistaris hadn't realized how rude she was being until she looked down and saw the hand extended to her. Quickly, she firmly grasped it in greeting. "Sorry about that. Calistaris, but my friends call me Cali." She said, shaking it then resetting to her position against the wall.
"Yeah, first time coming here, but I've been to other smaller night clubs and raves." She said, scratching her chin. "It's my last day on Illium for a while, probably, and I want to make it rememberable. Even wore my special face paint." She said, tapping and tracing the paint around her eyes and to the end of her mandibles.

"*hssk* Fine, if you can't be convinced, I'll hand over my weapon." Druss takes her folded up shotgun out, placing it on the reception desk. "*hssk* Safety's on and it's unloaded, don't worry. If there's anything else I need to hand over let me know." Her mind would be thinking some thoughts, as it usually does when she's awake 'Ok, no time to waste arguing, time's important here, I'll just have to improvise if things get loud. Oh good, manager, this'll be eas- damn! Not the target. They must be in the club then. Ok, act cool.' Druss looks over to Charisma, doing her best to keep calm. "*hssk* Well this is my first time here, is there a map of the club I could download to my omni?"
By sheer coincidence, Druss would actually be looking for a dominatrix at the club, albeit for entirely different reasons, hunting down someone who may or may not have major connections to several asari terrorist groups. And my my, isn't this story getting full of unanswered questions already? Possible volus spectres? Probable asari terrorists dominatrixes? Tol being bemused or not? Sounds like a bad movie plot, I love it!

"I can't believe you are dragging me here.." Artacus said dully to his friend in the drivers seat, turning his head toward him. "You always do this, everytime, while I have something important to do." Artacus added with a sigh, rubbing his forehead. "By 'important' you mean sit on your ass all day without any bounties to hunt?" His turian friend said, shaking his head as well. Artacus was having a pleasant day on Illium, resting up for a few days because of some gunshot he received to the shoulder. Now his friend, Pravius, dragged him out of his apartment to go to some place he managed to find out on the extranet. "Ugh.. fine." Artacus replied, letting out a big huff.
"I promise you'll like it, trust me." Pravius said with a grin as he parked the skycar, getting out along with Artacus. The turian stepped out of the passenger seat, looking up to the tall building in front of them. A sign said 'Apricity', with a volus foyer at the entrance. Artacus walked over to the foyer along with his friend Pravius, as his turian buddy motioned the volus to the car. "Take good care of here, yeah?" Pravius replied with a grin. Artacus let out a deep sigh, stuffing his pockets into his hands.

“Thank you for your understanding,” Charisma said, as Tol Madan ran a security scan of the shotgun, then carefully picked it up and stowed it in a locker module which emerged from the wall behind the reception desk. “I’m sure that will be sufficient. As you see,” she gestured to the archways leading off into the various areas of the club, “we have comprehensive scanners, and our security staff are the best; you need have no concerns while on the premises.”
“Your locker ident, ma’am,” Tol Madan said, returning from the desk with a holographic keycard ready for Druss’s omni-tool to take on.
“Bien sûr,” Charisma smiled, ‘picking up’ a hologram brochure from the desk. “Our visitor’s guide includes interactive maps of all public areas of the club - and the Dusk Oasis agency, located in the tower’s upper levels,” she nodded towards a pair of high-speed elevators off to the side of the foyer, “along with profiles of all our entertainers and escorts.” She bowed politely. “I hope you enjoy your stay.”
~~~
Sinda - a tall, shapely asari, eye-catching in a ‘dress’ consisting of a glittering band of fabric that spiraled around her body from neck to ankle, staying in place by some mysterious means known only to dressmakers - noted Charisma’s bow, a covert ‘all clear’, out of the corner of her eye, and once she had finished directing the human she had been greeting towards the sports bar, opened her omni-tool and sent a quick brief to the security station. ‘Guests’ making a nuisance of themselves were just part and parcel of Illium nightlife, but the armor bore keeping an eye on; still, if the manager was satisfied nothing was about to go down on the spot, somebody else could take over the unobtrusive watching.
With nothing further needing her, she decided she might as well take a spell meeting-and-greeting, logged herself onto the active roster, and turned to smile winningly at the pair approaching from the skycar pads, while Tol Madan walked over to their vehicle and checked it into the club’s parking network.
“Greetings gentlemen,” she said. “What kind of entertainment would please you both tonight?”
“It’s not so much strength as attitude,” Daia giggled along; of course Ana wasn’t the ‘dominatrix on duty’ tonight, she reflected, so the volus was probably safe. “A pleasure to meet you, Cali.”
She followed Cali’s gesture, studying her decoration, and nodded with a wide smile.
“Well then, we’ll deliver an evening worth remembering,” she replied. “Are you moving offworld? Or just planning some extended travelling?”
"Moving offworld sadly, it's easier for my job." She answered with a sigh, seeing as how the "opening entertainment" is over. "Just gotta finish packing up a few important things, then I'm off to the Citadel." She said, turning so her full attention was on Daia. "And can you keep that promise with a money back guarantee?" She joked, chuckling at herself and looking toward the digital map that Charisma had offered the volus.
"So, where do you think I should start?" She asked, looking back at Daia with her arms crossed in a relaxed way, her body language appearing as though she was curious. "And I suppose I should specify a few things about myself, huh? Well, I saw the sports room and, although that looked fun, I don't know too much about Pildavi. The cabaret looked fun, but I'm not sure if it necessarily fit my style of partying. I also have heard a lot about the Dark Oasis, but I felt like that was more of an end of the night thing. I heard a tiny bit about the media section, but must admit I'm still ignorant about it." She said, tapping her chin as she tried to remember anything else. "...That's just about it." She finished with a shrug, awaiting the recommendations in a relaxed stance.
Artacus' turian friend looked to the woman as she approached, smiling and going to chat with the asari. Artacus on the other hand decided to stay behind Pravius as he obviously started to chat up the asari greeter. The turian sighed and decided to walk over to the enterance. "I'll catch up later Artacus, enjoy the establishment!" Pravius yelled out to him, chuckling as he went back to the asari. Artacus cautiously entered through the doorways of the building, his head turning left and right as he observed his surroundings. "Hmm.. atleast it's clean and to my taste." The turian said to himself proceeding deeper into the building.
Eventually the turian would spot what seems to be a trio of an asari with dark blue skin, a turian female, and what seemed to be the female volus from Omega. "Hmph.. small world." He muttered, taking out his electronic cigarette, puffing on the device before exhaling the vapor from his mouth, looking towards the group.
