In a matter of seconds the remaining gunmen had either fled or been mown down. Twitch stood breathing heavily, blue blood dripping from his wounds before they were sealed by emergency foam; a new and expensive feature usually regulated to marines. Holstering his rifle, he picked amongs the bodies, grabbing credit chits as he did. For each merc he found, his omni-tool flashed out and he severed the pointer fingers from both their hands. By the end he had twenty four fingers. Twelve of these he stashed in a pouch on his suit, the other twelve he strung together in thin cable. he moved to return to the shop, then paused, turning and stooping over a krogan. There was a squelch, and an eye was added to the center of his finger ring. He approached her, his head and arms twitching in nervous tics. "Here. You do good, take necklace. Wear as good luck charm, or hang it outside, keep shoplifters away, yes?"

Fire was the best. She always told that whoever wanted to hear it (and some who didn't) in a mostly confined space like Omega, a plasma flame was most effective to clean the space of enemies. This time however, the crazy hail of bullets from that crazy ass quarian had also done its share.
With some disgusted horror Tuni'Za was torn between assessing the damage to her store and to check what that quarian was exactly doing to the corpses - yuck. Well, living on Omega hardens the stomach, you get to see disgusting stuff occasionally but this certainly was high up the ladder. However, she noticed his emergency foam application. Nifty feature that she knew about but also knew how rare it was outside Migrant Marines.
From a brief look the damage to the container was superficial only, nothing vital damaged, mainly dents and a few holes on the outside walls and around the entrance....
"What? That's... ugh, n.... no" she stuttered when her offered her the "lucky charm". "I... I think you should keep that, you seem to need it more than I do!" She looked around, the other people had fled the area but probably would soon return with local mercs. "Uhm. I think the local gang will check this out soon. You probably should be gone by then."

"Who do you think told Twitch to deal with meat sacks? They give many credits, but Twitch not need it. You take, maybe you get better shop?" He tapped his omnitool and her account suddenly had a few more zeroes. "Less mad at Twitch now? Twitch sorry for partying in store, got stuff messy."

Don’t anger this guy! Tuni’Za was surviving on Omega long enough to know when to go along. “Okay, well, if you insist, I’ll take it.” She took the macabre item with some caution. “But you must promise to keep your quarrels away from my property, will you?”
There were now a couple of armed mercs of the local group entering the area. A person was explaining something to them and he was pointing into the general direction of Tuni’Za’s store. Shootings were nothing extremely extraordinary on Omega, it happened from time to time. If you didn’t step on some higher up’s feet, the most important question usually was how to clean up the mess.
“Oh, authority.” She looked at the quarian. “Listen, don’t make this any worse for me.”

One of the mercs, a young looking Turian, eyed Twitch, then Tuni. He motioned for the female to come over. Twitch seemed unaware of the newcomers, and was now stripping the bodies of weapons.

Tuni'Za rolled her eyed behind her visor, invisible to everyone of course. She was glad that the quarian now behaved somewhat like a regular Omega citizen. She strolled over to the turian guard. "Those Bosh'tets opened fire at my shop." she pointed to her container. "They had it coming I suppose." she shrugged.

The Turian nodded. "Yeah, yeah. Look, you're Tuni, right? Big fan of yours, you're an amazing dancer. And I come to every one of your shows." He seemed to grow a little sheepish. "But unfortunately... We have a problem. You see that Quarian over there? That's Twitch, and he's quite possibly the biggest pain in the ass we've ever had to deal with. You see... The thing about hiring Twitch is he's anyone's man, you can't pin the hit on any one gang. Hell, it's always possible the hit was just for fun. But you see, here's the problem. We hired Twitch to take out some guys before we declared a turf war. As you can see he did the job but..." He looked around. "If we don't punish him for shooting up our territory everyone will know he's on our payroll and every other gang around will come crashing down for that hit. So... You're gonna have to take a fall."

"Oh thank you." she said with a chirping voice when the turian praised her dancing. One had to cater the paying crowd, right?
But then it got all weird. "I have to take what?" She didn't understand what the turian meant. "That freak is your business and yours alone, alright? He came to my store and purchased a quick fix kit and that's all I have to do with him. Now if you can be so kind to take this war some place else? I pay my safety fees regularly and I expect something for that."

"Look we get that but... We have to look out for everyone on the turf. We aren't throwing you under the buss or anything, you'll have the best of protection, but we're gonna need you to hire Twitch. Make all this look like a guarding job gone wrong. We'll pay for him... Indirectly of course. And you'll be compensated for the trouble. Just until we deal with the gang that's gonna be gunning for you."

Tuni'Za crossed her arms in front of her chest and looked at the turian. She was smaller, so she had to look up a bit. The quarian cocked her head and kept looking directly at him, She could see him, he couldn't see her face.
"What the actual fuck are you talking about?" What gang? Gunning for her? What payment? Hire the quarian?
And most important of all, what by all the frigging flares was a 'bus' and who got thrown under one usually?
"Nothing of the sort will happen. I will now clean up my store - it has a messy entrance area now, do you notice? Nobody wants to have their suits checked in such a messy environment. Have you ever dealt with a volus on such a matter? they are im. pos. si. ble about tidiness. And I sure as the void do not want to offend possible customers. You could actually help me by removing all of this mess..." she made an encompassing gesture which specifically included the male quarian, "... and better make sure that this market area is not the scene of mass shootings. Commerce is important for Omega." She tapped her foot.

The Turian seemed to get a little impatient, "Look, im trying to be polite about this but you have little choice in the matter." He loomed over her, looking down. "All you have to do is work with the guy for a few days. That means no more gangers attacking the market, just hitmen out for you. And you'll be in good hands with twitch guarding your back."

"What should I do, working with him? I am dancing and repairing suits. There's nothing he can do for me, in fact the farther away he is during these activities, the better it is. So what is your idea?" she was annoyed but she knew that if she wanted to stick ariund this area she had to play along with the local gang. "This better be compensated well."

"Well security for the store for one thing. For another, you may not see it when you dance, but some of your fans can get a bit touchy feely, and the sudden influx of krogan mercs means a lot more strain on the bouncers. See what I'm getting at?"

Tuni’Za rolled her eyes and sighed.Seriously. “I am well aware what happens at the club. Usually there are no complaints." Of course, Omega was generally a bit rougher that the Citadel but club rules where club rules.
“Not that I need a guard for my store, but I think that can be done. He can stick around.” She looked over to him and waved weakly. “If he does not scare away customers. And if he does, you will pay for compensation, is that clear?” she looked at the turian again.
“I don’t know about the club. It belongs to the owner and I can’t bring personal security. He can hang out there I suppose but I sure as hell do not want someone to play my pimp. This is out of the question.” And most certainly not a guy that deals out cut off hands as good luck charms, she thought.
“What does he think about all this anyway?”

The Turian snickered, "Does it matter? He's a fucking lunatic hooked on half the drugs we supply. We give him his fix and he bends over and takes anything we want him to. Only problem is he can be a bit hard to control, but that's the price of cheap labor I guess." He smirked, watching the aforementioned Quarian having a lovely conversation with one of the merc's shotguns.
