"I'm Vanidha, and this lovely Terran here is Sugar", Vanidha said, introducing the both of them. "We've just met so that's pretty much the extent of what I can say." She took another sip of the drink, she was beginning to feel the sugar enter her system, regaining some of the nutrition she needed to keep using her biotics properly. It was the one downside, she constantly had to eat. On the other hand, this way her butt wouldn't get bigger.
"Looks like we're all just waiting for something, doesn't anyone ever come here for the place itself?" Vanidha asked. Not that she had. She was here for repairs and fuel, if that hadn't been necessary she'd have passed this planet by without even checking out what it had to offer. "Forgive the question, I'm just curious by nature. What good is life if you don't savour its surprises and opportunities, yes?"

“Sure, just drop by whenever you want.” As long as Vanidha didn’t piss off Aria, Sugar didn’t care. She had a stable deal with the local gang rep for Aria so she could concentrate on business.
She laughed at her comment on violence. on Omega. „Well, you should keep that outside my place though. But if nothing else, there always are Vorcha to mop up, nobody cares and you're even doing cleanup really. Gozu is pretty safe from them usually, once in a while some end up shot somewhere but not nearly like in some of the lower districts.”
Her shuttle schedule was slowly moving up on the list of departures. She observed the other asari’s fate with the machine. These two seemed very different characters, fitting that such a posh person would go to the Citadel. Only her accent was a bit strong. “Sure, have a seat. I am Sugar, nice to meet you. I am going the opposite way, Omega. A place where you don’t even bother with filing complaints about such equipment. But there it's usually myself handing out beverages, I'm running a bar.”

"Heh, sounds like Aria's policy from when I lived there. 'If you can still breathe, shut the hell up' ", Alystae remarking dryly in response to Sugar's observation of Omega public services, or lack thereof. The asari who went by Vandhia seemed a bit standoffish, "the extent of what you can say? That's a bit sad, considering you could talk about the weather, the hassle of customs, etc..." The tall maiden drawling, pretending not to take the hint from Vandhia, taking another sip of her tea, letting Sugar finish her introduction.
"You work a bar too? Strange galaxy it seems, I'm in my third year of running my own little establishment on the Citadel." Alystae replying genially, delighted to meet a fellow bar worker. "Considering the majority of most asari establishments in alien minds are either strip clubs or dance establishments, I've decided to try something different. Freezer's Perch, an asari owned and run bar with an miner's aesthetic with a dash of human honkytonk." Alystae taking another sip of the tea, leaning back in her seat, giving her the look of a businesswoman on the make.
"I bet keeping order's a bitch in an Omega bar, considering that save Afterlife it's an 'enter at your own risk' enviroment last time I was in Omega." Alystae remarking with a knowing sympathy, Omega's danger factor aside, it's was tough finding good help no matter where one was. Cool heads, strong arms and sobriety were always at a premium, "still, I'd imagine you have it locked down. The bar is mostly for fun in my case, a good way of keeping a nest egg for my real projects." A small, almost calculating grin appearing on the Nartin native's face when she mentioned 'real projects'.

Vanidha had an idea what someone's real projects might look like if all they needed was a foot in the door on the citadel. Dealing with the shadow broker? Trafficking illicit goods? Not that she really needed to know or expected the chatty woman to reveal any details. Having dropped the hint was by itself more than Vanidha liked revealing to anyone.
"You shouldn't go there if you don't know how to defend yourself", Vanidha agreed. "There's some around who can't, I don't see why they ever went there to begin with. A human once told me there was a sucker born every minute, though I'm not quite sure what a sucker is I think he meant to say that there are always humans stupid enough to get into Omega without the skill or resources to survive there."

It was kind of obvious that Alystae didn't think much of strip clubs but hey, on Omega most people didn't waste time and wanted their simple tastes satisfied and were ready to spend all of their money on that. "Yeahhh... well, I am running a strip club. It fits the market on Omega and really, basically all the station has 'miners flair', not much need for that I guess. But on the Citadel that's something different I guess."
She raised an eyebrow at Vaidha'S comment. "Not just humans. You wouldn't believe how many come there trying to 'make it'" she airquoted that. "Not only humans but asari, turians... The war changed the people quite a bit." A lot of ex hierarchy people in particular or drifting orphans. Through traffic mostly. the kind nobody cared where they ended up more often than not.

"That is the untold tragedy of the war, war orphans", Alystae remarking in understanding, the duct rat population on the Citadel had exploded, and if was that serious in the heart of galactic gov't, things were just bad in the less governed spots in the Terminus. Omega, Cartagena, and several other spots were just looking to capitalize on the poor and desperate, "just like you Alystae, despite all your talk of 'empowerment' ." The brief flash of morality coming and going for the tall maiden, remembering why she chose the path of outlaw before continuing.
"Omega has never lacked for predators, scammers, and what have you, everything has a rough pecking order, even a place as wild as Aria T'Loak's little refuge. But that is the dream I'd imagine, if you can make it big in Omega, you can survive practically anywhere", Alystae mused, remembering her unlikely path in Omega, while other asari gravitated towards the mercenary industry or the service sector, she chose to learn the nuts and bolts of how a business is actually run. "An hundred year apprenticeship cut short", the Ice Bitch remembering not just Omega, but Illium....

Whump! The sound of a final pass with his Omni-torch proved rather fruitful, and the news bit of hull was installed. Having been suspended for quite awhile, he grew rather tired. Two to three hours of hanging by wires and cables, idly performing vestigial maintenance on a damaged shuttle. How it had gotten this banged up was anyone's guess. Alas, he had a paying job, and it was one he'd just completed. Opening up his Omni-tool, he tapped away, a full report written up in five minutes flat. Shutting it down, he expatiated a small sigh. Lunch-time.
Moving a hand to his front-utility belt, he tapped a button on his carabiner, and down he went, the idly whir quite audible. Stopping just before landing, he unhooks it, dropping to the floor. The cable flies upward into the ceiling, now out of sight.

The young man was leaning against a port, arms crossed in front of his chest. He was wearing a technician suit, red collar and markings on his arms, along with Martian Port Authority emblem. He had been watching the other guy working on the shuttle for a while. He eventually paused away from the wall and walked to some railing near the human, leaning on it casually.
"Looks like run through a meteor shower, man." He said casually.

A hooded female turian stepped outside of a civilian grade transport ship from Illium, getting off to the side to avoid the rush of other passengers entering the station, looking around for some kind of directory. Eventually, she found one and pulled back her rob to reveal her pale orange carapace and light brown skin, along with the light green paint that covered her eyes and stretched to the back of her mandibles. After locating where she was, she checked her omni-tool and realized that the transport she was on was late and that she'd be stuck here until an other transport to the Citadel docked. She sighed quietly to herself and started looking for something to do while she was stuck here. "I wonder if they have any dextro sushi here..." She whispered to herself.

“Sushi place is over there” The young light blue asari in a purple and silver dress was pointing at a sign saying ‘fish-o-tastic’. She had been coming from the same gate, overhearing the turian's question.
“I hate food on spaceships, I am practically starving right now.” It was always the same thing and Taleeze had the impression that it was getting worse as she got older. But maybe it was the food that was getting worse! This wasn’t luxury diner but the best thing available, you didn’t get nauseous by the smell. “My bondmate is pregnant and she stays away from sushi now so I barely have a chance to get some. Maybe we should check it out?” She suggested with a smile and a shrug.

It took a moment for Calistaris to recognize that the asari was talking to her, starting at her and blinking before she realized how rude she was being. "O-oh, you were talking to me! Sorry, I was a bit lost in thought there for a moment." She stuttered with a chuckle, trying to recall what the asari had said to her. Come on bonehead, focus! She thought to herself, stammering a little. Normally it was her approaching others and not the other way around, having to adapt to the new situation.
"Over here, you said?" Calistaris asked, looking back to where the map said 'fish-o-tastic'. After a very short pause, she looked back at Taleeze with a warm and friendly look in her eyes. "Yeah, in-flight food isn't all that great. You'd think they'd be able to afford something better with how much a ticket costs," she joked, chuckling quietly to herself. "I wouldn't mind as long as you don't." She agreed to the proposal with a nod, starting to walk that way.
"So you said you have a bondmate? That's pretty cool. How did you two meet, if you don't mind me asking?" Calistaris questioned, trying to start a conversation with the friendly asari.

Taleeze made an excusing gesture. "I'm sorry if I startled you! It's my mouth running on autopilot after a space flight." But at least the turian seems inclined to be some company. Not like that hanar on the cruiser who was going on and on about enkindlement. It had at some point just sounded pervy to Taleeze and she needed distraction. "Oh finally someone who understands me! Isn't that so that the exact same food just tastes bland and horrible if you're on a space ship? I've been told it is just a tick of mine but I swear..." They were walking over to where the sushi place was. It was one of those things where sushi floated by on a low g field. The guy behind the counter was cutting rolls up and arranged them on small plates. When he saw the two he greeted and took a few extra plates out with a dextro marker on them. Taleeze took a seat and studied the sushi. It was okay she thought and ordered a water as she took a plate. "Yeah, two of them actually." Taleeze chuckled at the question about her bondmate. "One is pregnant and the other is tied up with her studies. And this is me on stupid business trips. How did we meet... well, that's funny actually. She almost broke my sternum when she rammed me into the ground in a friendly biotic ball game." Taleeze bit her roll. Surprisingly tasty. She slapped her forehead. "I am sorry, my manners. I'm Taleeze!"

Calistaris placed her hand on her own chest and shook her head with the turian equivalent of a smile, which was little more than opening their mandibles some. "No no, it should be me making the apology, I should have introduced myself first! I'm Calistaris, but my friends call me Cali." She offered, taking a plate marked for dextros. It was some kind of eel, by the looks of it. She took a bite out of half of it and began chewing. Not bad... She thought to herself, ordering a dextro citrus drink with a special straw given that she can't necessarily use a normal cup without making a mess and can't suck it out with a normal straw given the lack of lips.
"Pildavi, right?" Cali started, her attention on Taleeze again. "I think I saw a game hosted by two businesses while on Illium. Seems pretty interesting, wish I was that strong of a biotic!" She continued, lifting her drink slowly with her biotics to show she did indeed have some. "They're nothing special when it comes to turians, nowhere near as refined or powerful as asari, y'know?" She explained, although part of her assumed Taleeze already knew about turian biotics.
"And two bondmates? Interesting..." Cali stated, mostly to herself. "Turians aren't normally ones for polygamous relationships, not really sure why. Part of me thinks it's the rigorous discipline and trust system or something. But you all trust each other, right?" She asked, nearly rambling. "I don't know, it's weird. We fool around leading up to our mature adult years, then most of us find one person to settle down with. I guess I'm still in my young adult years in that sense though, admittedly." She said with a chuckle, scratching the back of her head.

"Nice to meet you, Cali." Taleeze replied. She kept munching the various sushi, she was particularly intrigued by some thick green grey affair which looked like algae but tasted like birdmeat and was unknown to the asari. She wondered where the products came from.
"Pildavi, right. How's Illium doing these days? I used to spend some time there after the war but nowadays I don't get there nearly as much as I would like to." She thought about her dear friend Daia. What would she be up to now? Her mind was distracted by the display of biotics. While Taleeze occasionally used them that casually, but it wasn't popular. She also was familiar enough with turians to know that most turians were suspicious about biotics and they often ended up in secluded military units. What kind of history had Cali? She didn't appear like a cabal. "Nice."
"Yeah, two bondmates. It was a weird thing, it wasn't... planned, it just happened? Like, as such things just happen, you know?" No idea if Cali did know. "One of my mates is a human, it's not traditional for them either but as I always say, she's more of an asari as I am probably." Taleeze laughed.
"The sushi is quite good, huh? So, where you headed? I didn't want you to miss your flight or something."
